Creative Writing and Soft Skill Maturation Workshop to Improve Graduates’ Quality

Study Program of English Literature, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) was always consistent in continuing to work to improve the quality of graduates produced annually. Therefore, this Study Program held a Creative Writing and Soft Skill Workshop to Improve the Quality of Graduates on Friday (11/1/2019).

The workshop which was held in the Hall of Building B FCS UB was attended by alumni and final-year students who were taking a thesis. Presenting two speakers, Manake Bambang Triawan, S.E. from Labor Department Malang City, and Mahardi Eka Putra, S.S. who is the managing editor of kapanlagi.com, this workshop discussed the tricks of entering the workforce, along with preparations for getting the desired job.

In his presentation, the first speaker -Mahardi Eka Putra, S.S.- emphasized how the community currently relies on online media, making it absorb a lot of jobs while also creating a lot of competition. While Manake Bambang Triawan, S.E. as the second speaker mentioned a lot about the situation of the world of work in Indonesia today, the tricks to get a job, and how to do a job interview.

The program, which was held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., was of interest to the participants. It was indicated by questions raised to the two speakers. It was hoped that the workshop participants would be able to get a picture of the world of work they would face after graduating from college. (PS SIng/DT/MSH/PR FCS)
