Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) participated in the Student Creativity Program competition for Freshmen. This activity was held at the Faculty of Computer Sciences on Saturday (3/30/2019), and was opened by the Vice-Rector III of the Student Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim, M.Sc.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim, M.Sc., said that this activity was intended to gradually develop students until they were ready to become contingents in the PIMNAS 2020 event. “In addition, to prepare for the PIMNAS 2020, it is necessary to select competent supervisors in the Student Creativity Program field,” he added.
In this year’s competition, FCS UB sent 6 groups divided into 4 schemes. They were the Student Creativity Program of Social Humanities, Community Service, Copyright, and Written Ideas.
In the Student Creativity Program of Written Ideas, FCS UB’s delegates won 3rd place for the Sokushi group, and Favorite Champion for the ROAR group. The Sokushi Group (Application for Limiting the Use of Smartphones with a Timer System) was chaired by Fahra Auliani Rahma from the Japanese Literature Study Program and guided by Iswahyuni, M.Pd., a lecturer of English Language Education Study Program. Whereas the ROAR (Antirampok Water Robot) Detection Radar and Illegal Ship System Destruction was chaired by Salsa Eka M from the Japanese Literature Study Program, guided by Isti Purwaningtyas, M.Pd., a lecturer of English Literature Study Program.
