FCB UB, Malang – Music fans worldwide, from kids to adults, eagerly anticipate the music festival each year and are even willing to stand in line just to see it. There is one major event in England, the ‘Glastonbury Festival,’ which is a music festival that attracts thousands of people.
Taken from glastonburyfestivals.co.uk, the Glastonbury festival was first held in 1970 by a dairy farmer, Michael Eavis. The first event was held in the aftermath of Jimi Hendrix’s death. Eavis originally organized the Glastonbury festival in response to hippie performances, and then he welcomed people to enjoy themselves on his farm by hosting a Pop, Folk, and Blues festival in Pilton, Somerset. Eavis presented musical performances, theater, poetry, dances, flashing lights, and distributed free cow’s milk from Worthy Farm for the continuation of the event.

The Glastonbury Festival is the world’s largest greenfield music festival featuring artists from a wide range of genres. One of the hallmarks of this music festival is the Pyramid stage. This festival was held five days in a row by inviting many top artists to be the performers, such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Beyoncé, and many more.
The Glastonbury festival celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020, although the festival was officially canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. This festival will be held again next year after the Covid-19 pandemic subsides. (28/07/2021-FIBInternship)
