Double Degree Program at the University of Queensland

Brawijaya University has held some programs that facilitate students to experience learning activities in other universities, one of them is the double degree program. The program allows students to learn in overseas universities without taking a semester off. Brawijaya University and the partner universities used a credit transfer system to run this program. The partner universities are the University of Queensland and Federation University. Both universities are located in Australia.

It is reported that Brawijaya University opened the application for this program in August 2020. Students were required to get their transcripts from the first to fourth semesters. They also needed to compile other documents such as senior high school certificate, passport or residential identity card, and IELTS certificate. In December, the students paid the tuition fee for the first semester and the insurance. Furthermore, the students should collect some other documents applying for a VISA. The learning activities started in February 2021.

One of the students who successfully applied to this program is Krisanti Suryadewi, a student of the class of 2018. She shared her stories about learning at the University of Queensland to us.

Because of Covid-19, all the learning activities at the University of Queensland are held online. Krisanti said in the interview that the border to Australia is already open but due to some reasons she can not go there soon. When she was asked about the reason why she joined the program, her answer was because she had already planned to study abroad from the first year of university. Another reason was that there were courses that she was interested in. Krisanti has been studying at the University of Queensland for about one year. Her impressions toward studying abroad are that she got to experience a more advanced learning system, learn about work ethic, and learn about cultures from people from various countries. At the end of the interview, she recommends this program to the readers because the program is so worthy.
