One of the international program students of English Literature Brawijaya University, Ailsa, is currently running a Double Degree program at Federation University. A total of 8 courses that she chose such as Foundation Of Knowledge, Writing Creative Non-Fiction, Literary and Screen Genres, Australian Screen Text and Industries, Writing Stories, Children Fiction, Writing Experiments, and Applied Ethics in Contemporary Societies. It will be converted to courses in English literature at Brawijaya University. The Double Degree program she is currently undergoing lasts 1.5 years and will end in August 2022. However, she underwent her Double Degree study with online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has not yet ended.
Federation University is the fourth oldest tertiary education institution in Australia and is also a high-quality college across the national and international campus network. No wonder Ailsa chose Federation University as the best campus choice for her Double Degree study. The courses offered by Federation University are also another reason for Ailsa to choose Federation University, because it is in accordance with the majors and interests Ailsa wants. “During the Double Degree program, I got a lot of new experience and knowledge, like a lot of new genres that I didn’t know before, I just learned it while studying at Federation University. Then I can be more confident to write with different genres, and can also understand more about Australian culture and Australian films”, said Ailsa.
Looking at Ailsa’s experience while undergoing her Double Degree study, there are many advantages and benefits that are very useful to apply when entering the world of work or entering the community environment that is obtained from participating in International Class Programs. Such as being taught by lecturers with international experience and of course being native speakers, experiencing the education system at the international level, increasing understanding of cross-cultural competencies, and being able to interact with students from international universities.
